The softener stops scale in your pipes, water heater, and dishwasher, and your skin and hair feel softer after a shower. The reverse osmosis filter under the kitchen sink takes out microplastics, lead, and nearly everything else that isn't water.

LA treats its water with chloramine. That's the chlorine smell in your shower. A softener doesn't touch it. The carbon tank in this package removes it for every shower and tap in the house.

Microplastics

The under-sink filter removes
nearly all microplastics.

Microplastics are bits of plastic too small to see. They’re in tap water. The reverse osmosis membrane under your sink has openings far smaller than any microplastic, so the plastic stays behind and the water comes through.

Every install includes a free microplastics test of your tap water, so you see what was in it.

Three pieces of equipment. Here’s what each one does.

Stops hard water

LA water is hard. It leaves scale in your pipes, water heater, and dishwasher, and spots on your glasses. The softener pulls those minerals out where water enters the house.

Clean drinking water

A filter under the kitchen sink with its own faucet. It takes out microplastics, lead, and nearly everything else that isn't water. Drinking, coffee, cooking.

LA adds chloramine. Our filter removes it.

Chloramine is the chlorine smell in your shower. A softener does nothing about it. The carbon tank in Package 02 takes it out before it reaches any tap or shower.

Everything installed in one visit, typically 4 to 5 hours. The softener, and the carbon tank if you pick 02, go where water enters the house, usually the garage. The under-sink reverse osmosis filter goes under the kitchen sink. We show you how it all works before we leave.

    We confirm where everything goes and set the install date. If your house needs extra pipe, you hear the number on that call.

    Install day

    Typically 4 to 5 hours. We install it, set it up, and show you the controls, the salt, and the filters. We also grab a tap-water sample for your free microplastics test.

Is $2,800 really the whole price?

Yes. $2,800 for Package 01, $3,700 for Package 02. Equipment, standard installation and tax included. Any additional work quoted upfront.

Which package should I pick?

01 if you want soft water and clean drinking water. 02 if you also want the chloramine out of your showers. The softener doesn't remove chloramine. Only the carbon tank does.

What happens after I book?

We call, confirm your address and where the equipment goes, and set the date. Extra pipe or unusual work gets priced on that call. Install day is typically 4 to 5 hours.

How does the free microplastics test work?

We take a sample from your tap, screen it for microplastics, and send you the result. It's a screening that shows suspected microplastics. It is not a certified lab analysis.

What does the drinking water filter take out?

It's reverse osmosis. Microplastics, lead, and most other contaminants don't get through. It has its own faucet at the kitchen sink. The softener and carbon tank handle the rest of the house.

Where does the equipment go?

The softener, salt tank, and carbon tank go where water enters the house, usually the garage. The drinking water filter goes under the kitchen sink.

What upkeep does it need?

Add a bag of salt when it runs low. Swap the drinking water filter on schedule. The carbon tank's media gets replaced every few years. We show you all of it on install day.
